2021 Summer Reading Program

June 7th – August 31st

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

All ages can participate in our annual Summer Reading Program!

Track your reading progress to earn free books and entries into raffles drawings.

This year there’s two ways to choose from to participate:

1. Paper (with physical reading logs, sign up is at the library)

2. Virtual (fully online, sign up through Beanstack)

Free Book Prizes

Free book prizes are earned at the halfway mark and upon completion of the Summer Reading Program.

  • Halfway: 50 books (ages 0-7), 1,000 minutes (ages 8+)
  • Completion: 100 books (ages 0-7), 2,000 minutes (ages 8+)

You can collect your free book by coming in to the library or scheduling a curbside pick up.

For Curbside:

-Have your book of choice picked out before you arrive and let us know your choice when you schedule a pick up time. Choose from this list.

Raffle Drawings

Raffles entries are automatically earn when you reach the halfway mark and completion of the Summer Reading Program. This year’s raffles are:

Children (ages 0-12):

  • Gaming Gorilla Bundle: includes board games & a book.
  • Artsy Antelope Bundle: includes art activities & a book.
  • Scientific Snake Bundle: includes science kits & a book.

Teens (ages 12-17):

  • Awesome Animals Bundle: includes 2 activities, Caribou gift card, and a free book of your choice.

Adults (ages 18+):

  • Book Worm Bundle: includes a book tote bag, reading journal, and a Barnes & Noble gift card.

 

Virtual Nature Photo Contest

For teens in grades 6-12 & adults!

Show off your photography skills in this virtual contest! Your photo should showcase nature, so the world is yours for this challenge. All entries will be posted anonymously on our website to be voted on. The winner will take home a prize!

Submit your photos June 14th – 27th

Voting will be online June 28th – 30th

Winner will be announced July 1st

Submission Rules

1. Photo must be one you have taken yourself.

2. Must be in grades 6-12, or be 18+ to enter.

3. Photo must showcase nature in some way.

4. Limit to one photo entry per person.

How to Submit a Photo

1. Take a picture showcasing nature.

2. Email photo to Leanne Goeppner at lgoeppner@prescottpubliclibrary.org

3. In your email include the following:

-Your name

-Category (teen or adult)

-Location of photo

-Title of photo (optional)

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

June 25th (following storytime) – June 28th

Let your stuffed animal friends spend the weekend at the library!

After Storytime in the morning, kids can drop off their friends to have an exciting weekend at the PPL full of activities, and of course books!

You can see what the animals are up to over the weekend by photos posted on our web accounts.

Stuffed animals can be picked up Monday, June 28th after 10am.

*Crafts include small pieces. Parental supervision is needed for ages 3 and under.
